About KidsTracing

KidsTracing is a free website of printable worksheets and learning activities for young children. It is made for parents, teachers, preschool and kindergarten educators and homeschool families. You pick a tool, change the settings, check the live preview, then print the worksheet or save it as a PDF.

What you can make

Tracing and handwriting are at the heart of the site, and the tools now cover more of the early learning stages.

Not sure where to begin? The age pages group the tools by learning stage: Preschool Worksheets (ages 3 to 4) and Kindergarten Worksheets (ages 5 to 6). Ages are only a guide, so start where your child feels confident.

Free printable workbooks

Besides the generators, KidsTracing offers ten complete PDF workbooks for ages 2 to 9: ABC tracing, numbers 1 to 20, pen control, shapes, fruits and vegetables, animals, dot markers, scissor skills, CVC words and cursive handwriting. Each one is a planned set of pages in US Letter and A4, free to print at home or in class. Start at All free printable workbooks.

How to print a worksheet

Choose A4 or US Letter to match your paper, then press Print, or Save as PDF to print later or share the file with a class. The preview on the page is what you get on paper. Every worksheet is portrait, and all of them are free for personal use at home and in the classroom.

How the worksheets are designed

Every handwriting sheet uses three-line writing guides, with a top line, a dashed middle line and a base line, so children can see how tall each letter should be. The fonts are chosen for clear, school-style letter shapes, and you can pick dotted, outline or solid gray letters depending on how much support your child needs. The letter formation sheets show numbered start points and direction arrows. All pictures are original drawings.

How the site is made and kept up to date

KidsTracing is a small independent project. The worksheets are generated in your own browser by the site's own code, so the names and words you type stay on your device. Our guides for parents and teachers are written in plain language, and before a guide goes live we check what it says about each tool against the tool itself. New tools and guides are added over time, and pages are updated when something changes. The guides give general information, not medical or professional advice, and the age and readiness guides say when it is a good idea to ask a professional.
